A classic creation done by...me!

A classic shoe creation designed by yours truly!

Custom wedding shoes that won’t break the bank? I just discovered that Nina Shoes has a new option on their website that lets you design your own shoes. I created a fab pair for $199.  You pick the style, heel height, and color. There are 16 shades to choose from, and you can choose different colors for the upper, heel, and bow (though I’m not sure I would recommend a three-tone shoe!). A great idea for your shoes, and your bridesmaids’. Unleash your inner Louboutin! –Christina, Un-Veiled

Check out the video of our runway show from this morning on Good Morning America. You’ll get to see all 5 finalists and their dresses as well as our winner!

We unveiled the winner of Operation Dream Dress this morning, live on Good Morning America. It was a tough decision—the five final designs were both unique and inspired. According to Diane Sawyer, each of the gowns was “dazzling”–and we have to agree! After the on-air fashion show, editor in chief Millie Bratten revealed that Amy Wong Micucci from Beverly Hills, CA, would go home with $10,000—and the distinction of having her dress photographed for the cover of our November/December issue. If you love it, you’ll be able to wear it for your wedding, since it will be manufactured by David’s Bridal this fall. Best of luck to all of our contestants, and we look forward to seeing all of your entries next year. –Jackie, Cubicle Chat

Tonight is our private fashion show, where the final five Operation Dream Dress designs–chosen by America!–will be showcased on the catwalk and critiqued by our panel of experts. Among these panelists are our own fashion director, Rachel Leonard; Austin Scarlett, who you might recognize from the first season of Project Runway; Hilary Rhoda, the face of Estee Lauder’s fragrance, Beautiful; Dan Rentillo, designer for David’s Bridal; and Britt Aboutaleb, Associate Editor of Fashionista.com.  Our panelists and models are just arriving! –Jackie, Cubicle Chat

ODD Intro SlideBack in February we asked designers all over the country to submit original sketches of a wedding dress that exemplified the idea of “visionary romance” for our Operation Dream Dress contest. Tonight, the five finalists will  appear alongside their creations in a private showing for our editors and VIP panelists; tomorrow, our editors will announce the grand prize winner on Good Morning America. Tune in tomorrow morning, June 25th, to see a live runway show of the finalists’ dresses and find out who will go home with $10,000–and their dress on the cover of BRIDES! –Jackie, Cubicle Chat
