PARTY GIRL: Signature Cocktails All Around

May 11, 2009

combier-bottle-high-res1Who doesn’t want to unleash her inner diva and create a signature cocktail for her wedding?  Here are three totally practical reasons:

  • Drinks can be prepared in large quantities before the event, which saves money since you’ll need fewer bartenders.
  • Guests won’t have to stand in line at the bar.  This means more dancing.
  • If you’re not having an open bar, a signature drink is a great way to give guests an option beyond wine and beer.

Getting thirsty? Thought so! This drink, made especially for BRIDES and our 75th Anniversary, would be great at a wedding.

Combier French “75” (champagne cocktail)
1/4 ounces Combier Liqueur d’Orange
1/4 ounces gin
1/4 ounce fresh lime juice
1 dash orange bitters
1 sugar cube
5 ounces champagne, chilled
Pour gin, Combier, lime juice & bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well to blend. Put the sugar cube into a Champagne flute. Strain gin mixture into the glass. Carefully top it off with Champagne.  –Jackie, Party Girl
