NY BRIDAL Market: Let There Be Light

April 7, 2009

Biblical downpours not withstanding, my Monday morning got off to a smashing start at Angel Sanchez showroom.  There were only eight of us there for an informal presentation—which meant we could ask the models to stop so we could see the gowns up close.  So cool!  What I adore about Angel (pronounced An-hel) is his ability to create simple elegant gowns with an edge.  So I was not surprised when a Mikado silk trumpet design with a floral-embroidered single shoulder paraded pass, followed by an equally outstanding hand-painted floral tulle confection.  I had to cop a feel—and it felt like it looked: soft and supple.  And the best part?  Angel himself came out to talk with us in person!  I wanted to cheer, but controlled myself for fear of spilling my morning coffee.    Terrie, NY Bridal Market
